How does it work?
Unlike limitations of older technologies that use low-powered energy sources like pulsed light, excel® HR only uses true and premium laser sources to achieve the most effective results for people of all skin types. With more coverage than ever before, excel® HR’s signature truPulse technology delivers consistent and sustained energy in each and every pulse, thus efficiently reducing the number of treatments required.

What does the procedure feel like?
excel® HR selectively treats the hair follicle without causing thermal damage to the surrounding tissue. The sapphire window significantly provides superior comfort by offering continuous, epidermal cooling and protection before, during, and after each of the safest laser pulse.

How many treatments will I need?
The total number of treatments varies based on the area treated. Typically, four to six treatments spaced six to eight weeks apart is recommended. Laser and other energy-based hair removal requires multiple treatments, because hair grows in different phases. Hair can take six to 12 weeks for it to grow from root to surface. This growth stage is known as the anagen stage and this is the perfect time to receive laser hair removal. You know when you are due for your next treatment session when hair in the treated area begins to grow back. It is very important to stick with the treatment schedule that we suggest. Missing a treatment could allow your hair to enter the next stage, where hair begins to detach from the hair follicle, which can increase the number of treatments originally required.

Is there any downtime after the treatments?
There is minimal to no downtime associated with these treatments. Immediately after the treatment, the area may appear a bit red and swollen, similar to a sunburn, both of which generally last for no more than a few hours, but in rare cases, blistering may occur. Three to seven days after the treatment, you may experience what seems to be a regrowth of hair, but most of these hairs are actually being shed as a result of your treatment and are not regrowing. It is advised not to wax or pluck your hair between these treatments, but shaving is allowed.

xeo® COOLGLIDE

Cutera’s CoolGlide Nd:YAG (1064 nm) lasers are FDA-cleared for: hair removal, permanent hair reduction, treatment of all skin types, including tanned skin, and treatment of pseudofollicultis barbae (PFB).

How does it work?
Cutera’s Leading Hair Removal Solutions can safely, quickly and effectively treat large areas of the body within a broad range of skin types and even suntan. The specially designed and cooled handpiece increases patient comfort by soothing and gliding along the skin, and decreases the adverse skin reaction commonly seen with other lasers. Cutera’s Leading Hair Removal Solutions disable the hair that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in the treated area.

What does the procedure feel like?
Cutera’s Leading Hair Removal Solutions are most often described as comfortable. You will experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation during the procedure. Although no local anesthesia or pain medication is needed, some patients may prefer to use a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated. You can expect to return to normal daily activities with the use of sunscreen for any outdoor activities almost immediately.

How many treatments will I need?
Generally, a series of 4 to 6 treatments is enough to address most hair concerns, but the number of treatments for ideal long-term benefits depends on the hair thickness, the area treated and the hair’s growth cycle. The average number of treatments is 5 to 8 and the average treatment interval is 6 to 12 weeks. The individual treatment results are gradual and subtle, but the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.

xeo® PROWAVE LX

Thanks to Cutera’s ProWave LX hair removal system clients are making their undesired and distressing facial and body hairs things of the past. No more painful razors, waxes or electrolysis and depilatory creams! Cutera’s ProWave LX offers permanent hair reduction for lasting results. Cutera’s ProWave LX removes undesired hair, and affects stable, long-term, or permanent, hair reduction. The purpose of the treatment is to specifically treat the hair follicle without causing thermal damage to the tissues around it.

As Cutera’s newest FDA-cleared hair removal innovation with the latest technology, the ProWave LX hair removal system quickly and safely treats a broad range of skin types and even large areas of the skin with a specially tailored light source for a permanent hair reduction. Permanent hair reduction is achieved when the ProWave LX uses heat to specifically target and disable the melanin in the hair bulb and bulge, which function in hair re-growth. The hair must be brown or black, because the ProWave LX does not target and cannot be absorbed by white, gray, red or light-blonde hair.

How does ProWave LX compare with other hair removal methods?
