Aging and sun damage to the skin is inevitable, but Laser Alexandrite Skin Therapy will treat these conditions to minimize their damages.
Laser Alexandrite Skin Therapy is the next generation, premium, and non-invasive anti-aging solution that is FDA-approved to safely, naturally, and effectively reduce or eliminate the appearance of a variety of benign skin conditions, including: fine lines, mild wrinkles, sun spots, freckles, age spots, melasma, and keratoses. The advanced, high-power Alexandrite (755 nm) laser, coupled with the superiority of sapphire contact cooling, efficiently and comfortably targets undesired pigment, and delivers impressive and long-term, visible results. Alexandrite laser also stimulates the natural processes of new cell and collagen productions, which minimizes pore sizes, improves the overall texture, and tightens the skin. This rejuvenation treatment restores the natural health of your skin for a more youthful and vibrant appearance.
Laser Alexandrite Skin Therapy treats Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-IV.
All of Cutera®’s Laser treatments are completed with applications of: skin-specific serums, replenishing gels, calming balms, hydrators, and broad spectrum SPFs.
How does it work? The advanced, high-power Alexandrite (755 nm) laser from Cutera® produces a high-energy of light, which is then converted into heat energy to gently warm the upper dermis just below the skin’s surface, which shrinks pore sizes, evens-out rough skin texture, and improves the appearance of fine lines and mild wrinkles through cell turnover and collagen stimulation. The specially-designed laser specifically targets the superficial pigment in the epidermis, so that the laser is absorbed only by the cells containing excessive concentrations of pigment. This causes efficient reduction or elimination, and it does not affect the surrounding tissues or remove the normal skin color.
What does the procedure feel like?
Laser Alexandrite Skin Therapy is most often described as superiorly: comfortable, relaxing, and therapeutic. The integral and superior sapphire contact cooling in the laser handpiece continuously cools and protects the skin before the laser treatment, to reduce the minimal to no pain at all from the gentle warming of the skin’s surface during, and possible side effects after the safe laser treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Generally, a series of four to six treatments scheduled within two-week intervals is enough to address most skin concerns, but the total number of treatments varies based on the area treated. It is very important to stick with the treatment schedule that we suggest. The individual treatment results are gradual and subtle, but the overall effects of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.
Is there any downtime after the treatments?
There is minimal to no downtime associated with these treatments. The most common, reported side-effect is a slight redness or pinkness, which symbolizes a healthy glow that disappears immediately or within two or a few hours after the treatment. You can expect to return to normal daily activities with the use of sunscreen for any outdoor activities almost immediately.
