How does Salicylic acid work?

Salicylic is a BHA (beta hydroxy acid) that is important for controlling oil production and reducing inflammation.

Once salicylic acid enters the pore, it works to break down sebum/oil or control its production; this can help reduce the bonds between dead skin cells and can be a key participator in relieving the area from residue, allowing for more oxygen to inhibit the pore. Note: bacteria cannot survive in areas concentrated in oxygen. Oxygen is important for nourishing the skin and providing deep pore cleansing.
