Vascular treatment treats Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-IV.
All of Cutera’s Laser treatments are completed with applications of: skin-specific serums, replenishing gels, calming balm, hydrators and broad spectrum SPF.
How does it work?Combining the ideal laser wavelength with the most flexible parameters, Cutera Laser delivers a superior vascular laser system through pulses of light energy which causes the blood within the veins to coagulate or thicken until the vessel is destroyed when it is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface, where it should be.
What does the procedure feel like? You will experience a stinging sensation during the procedure as the pulses of energy are delivered through the handpiece. Although some patients are comfortable without local anesthesia or any medication beforehand, most patients choose to use a topical anesthetic. You can expect to return to normal daily activities with the use of sunscreen for any outdoor activities almost immediately. However, it is recommended that you avoid vigorous activities such as strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after treatment and sun exposure.
How many treatments will I need?Generally, a series of 4 to 6 treatments every 4 weeks is enough to address most skin concerns, but the number of treatments depends on the number, color and size of the vessels to be treated. The individual treatment results are gradual and subtle, but the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.
Is there any downtime after the treatments? There is minimal to no downtime associated with these treatments. Immediately after the treatment, the pain from the procedure is minimal to non-existent, and some redness or bruising may appear. The most common reported side-effects are slight redness and local swelling in the treated area, both of which disappear within less than 24 hours after the treatment. However, some reported side-effects are bruising, and in rare cases, blistering. When larger veins are treated, a tan or brownish pigment may continue for a few weeks or months after the treatment. Patients who have leg vein treatments may be advised to wear support hose for a brief period of time.
