Cupping Therapeutic Massage

Cupping Therapeutic Massage in Midtown East, New York City (NYC)

Popularized and endorsed by celebrities and/or Olympic athletes, Cupping Therapeutic Massage provides many healing properties and an especially pleasant experience. Cupping therapy was developed by the ancient Chinese, and has been used for centuries by massage therapists worldwide for its many healing properties. Cupping is one of the best deep-tissue therapies available.

Cupping Therapeutic Massage combines our signature therapeutic massage with cupping therapy. Cupping is a technique that utilizes heated small glass cups as suction that are placed onto the skin. The suction in the cups causes the skin and superficial muscle layer to be lightly drawn into the cup. Instead of applying direct pressure onto the muscles from traditional massage, cupping uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. Hands, wrists, legs, and ankles can be cupped, which applies its many healing properties to specific organs that correlate with these points. The chest can be cupped as well, which can be valuable to the lungs by relieving respiratory conditions.

How does it work?
Our experienced massage therapist will use a method of swabbing rubbing alcohol onto the bottom of the cup, then lighting it to an optimal temperature, and placing the cup immediately onto the areas that require treatment. Do not worry, the flames are never near the skin and are not lit throughout the process. They are simply utilized just to create the heat that induces the suction within the cups. The cups will be left on your body for 15 minutes in order to release as many toxins within your body as possible, which clears blockage, and refreshes veins and arteries. The color of the toxins depends on their toxicities; the darker the toxins, the more toxic they are.

What does the procedure feel like?
Cupping Therapeutic Massage is most often described as therapeutic, specifically relaxing and relieving.

Is there any downtime after the treatment?
As seen on celebrities and/or Olympic athletes, there is a downtime associated with this therapy. Immediately after the therapy, redness or bruising appears on the treated areas, either of which will disappear within a week.
